The Packaging & Labelng Engineer is responsible for the governance, development, and lifecycle management of product labeling and packaging, serving as the owner of the company's packaging system. The role ensures that every aspect of packaging—from regulatory compliance and label content to structural design, product protection, customer experience, and commercial branding—works together to support the company's products, operational objectives, and global business strategy.
The incumbent will be working collaboratively with Regulatory Affairs, Quality, Engineering, Manufacturing, Sales, Marketing, and Supply Chain, the delivery packaging solutions that are compliant, functional, operationally effective, and commercially successful across global markets.
The Packaging & Labeling Engineer owns the development, design, evaluation, and approval of product labels and packaging throughout the product lifecycle. The role is responsible for designing and validating packaging solutions that protect product integrity while meeting durability, transportation, storage, and display requirements and supporting a positive customer experience. By selecting and evaluating packaging materials based on performance, sustainability, and cost effectiveness, the Packaging Engineer ensures packaging solutions comply with applicable regulatory requirements while balancing manufacturing capabilities, product protection, logistics, customer expectations, and commercial branding objectives.
As the subject matter expert for packaging and labeling, the Packaging & Labeling Engineer provides strategic leadership for the company's packaging systems by integrating regulatory requirements, packaging engineering best practices, supply chain considerations, customer expectations, and brand strategy. This role goes beyond verifying label accuracy; it ensures that packaging is legally compliant, technically robust, operationally effective, commercially competitive, and aligned with corporate brand standards across global markets.
The position can be based in Juarez (Mexico) / El Paso (Texas), Montreal (Canada), or Rhode Island (U.S) and is part of the Product Management Department, within the Assembly Materials Department under the leadership of its President.
