The Opportunity

Reporting to the State Sales Manager this role sits at the centre of engineering, design and commercial delivery.

As a Packaging Engineer, you’ll take ownership of developing and optimising corrugated packaging solutions, working closely with customers, sales and manufacturing teams to deliver smarter, more efficient outcomes.

This is a hands-on, customer-facing role where you’ll lead trials, influence design decisions and drive continuous improvement across both customer and plant environments.

What You Will Do

• Design and deliver fit-for-purpose packaging solutions
• Lead product trials across plant and customer sites
• Optimise board grades, carton design and specifications
• Partner with customers to improve packaging performance and cost
• Support tenders with practical, commercially viable solutions
• Collaborate with Sales, Design and Operations to deliver outcomes
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, throughput and margin
• Contribute to innovation and continuous improvement initiatives
• Provide technical guidance on packaging machinery and performance
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality and operational standards

What You Will Bring

• Experience in packaging, manufacturing or product development (corrugated highly regarded)
• Strong understanding of packaging design, materials and production processes
• Ability to balance technical requirements with commercial outcomes
• Experience working directly with customers in a solutions-focused role
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Confident stakeholder engagement across operations and sales
• Continuous improvement mindset with a focus on efficiency and innovation
