– Area Manager
Overall Line Performance
The Area Manager is fully accountable for all aspects of line performance, including safety, quality, environmental compliance, financial performance, production planning, efficiency, losses, and waste.
Leads daily, weekly and monthly line performance reviews, including KPI trees, resource allocation, and prioritization.
Establishes clear escalation triggers (KPI thresholds, breakdown frequency, quality incidents) and ensures rapid escalation to Reliability and Continuous Improvement teams.
Owns the line Dream, associated KPIs, long-term strategy, and execution roadmap.
Operational Excellence & VPO:
Ensures deployment, sustainability, and effectiveness of all relevant VPO pillars and blocks within the area.
Responsible for MCRS execution, ensuring that Front-Line Managers follow management checklists and routine agendas.
Owns the production strategy, changeover strategy and execution, corrective and preventive maintenance approach, start‑up/shutdown processes, and production modulation.
Ensures robust problem solving through high‑quality 5 Whys, anomaly reports, PDCA cycles, and VPO tools. Drives continuous improvement and GOP execution.
Ensures efficient design and use of VPO infrastructure: Team Room, communication boards, visual management systems, and operator workstations.
Responsible for deploying and sustaining the Autonomous Teams structure across all crews and shifts.
Guarantees the existence, quality, and continuous update of SOPs and other operational standards.
Maintenance, Reliability & Coordination
Oversees maintenance backlog management and validates maintenance priorities with Maintenance and Reliability team.
Reviews execution quality of maintenance work orders and ensures feedback loops for improvement.
Owns capability development for core team members, including skills gap analysis and training plans.
Coordinates production windows and preventive maintenance schedules with Logistics and Technical Planners.
Leadership, Engagement & Transformation
Ultimately responsible for team engagement within the area, promoting high‑value activities and eliminating low‑value tasks.
Ensures proper integration of new equipment, technologies, processes, and products in compliance with Management of Change (MoC) requirements.
Ensures that Plant Technical Experts (PTEs) and technicians actively support continuous improvement using VPO tools.
Acts as a transformational leader, fostering a culture of accountability, ownership, and performance.
