This job is responsible for operating, troubleshooting, and maintaining all packaging equipment and personnel assigned to Line 1, Line 2 and Line 3. This job is responsible for working with the Packaging Supervisor and Packaging Area Coordinators to lead and manage the activities of the packaging department.

Key Responsibilities

Through the use of the inventory control system, this position is responsible for printing tickets and placing them on pallets and totes of product. Additionally, this position will maintain records of production and held and reworked product. This position will be responsible for cleaning food contact surfaces, floors, framework and the remainder of the assigned work area.

• This position is also responsible for managing and directing the team in accomplishing the following:
• Safe and efficient palletizing of product
• Transporting of product and supplies
• Ensuring all paperwork, forms, reports, and computer data entry are completed and submitted in an accurate and timely manner
• Complying with all sanitation standards

Typical Education

High School Diploma or Equivalent

Relevant Experience

• The individual in this position must exhibit initiative, creativity, and self-motivation. This person will also be required to demonstrate an ability to maintain awareness of current operating conditions in order to constructively generate action.
• Strong leadership skills, positive work relationships, and effective coaching are key to the success of the Packaging Area Coordinator and the packaging team.
• Overtime requirements in this position are common and may be necessary to meet operational goals. The nature of this work requires that lunch and rest break schedules for this position may be adjusted to fit the activities of the team and the processing line.

• Must be able to read, understand, and communicate in a manner to successfully perform the job duties.
• Must be able to perform basic math functions (addition, subtraction, multiplication and counting).
• Must be able to perform basic computer skills (turn computer on, use a mouse, save a document, and open a file or program).
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs in a safe and proper manner.
• Must be able to use up to 50 pounds of push/pull force needed to push/pull barrels weighing up to 450 lbs using a rolling device.
• Must be able to maneuver in close quarters and climb stairs and ladders.
• Must be able to stand on concrete floors for long periods of time.
• Must be able to work in extreme environments: hot or cold temperatures and wet and slick floors.
• Must be able to work with and around hazardous chemicals wearing appropriate PPE, includes but not limited to, full wetsuit, boots, chemical gloves and face shield or goggles.
