Job Description

Teknion Custom Solutions, a leading custom wood furniture manufacturer in Calgary, is seeking a detail-oriented Packager to join our dedicated team. This position is responsible for packaging Teknion furniture ensuring appropriate protection in preparation for shipment, ensuring the product arrives to the customer in pristine condition.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Wrapping and packaging furniture,
• Lifting and maneuvering heavy objects,
• Proper use of appropriate packaging materials to ensure furniture will arrive at its destination with no damages to product,
• Understands packaging materials and what their uses are,
• Proper and safe use of packaging tools which include: box cutter, chop saw, tape gun, and a variety of wrapping tools,
• Proper and safe use of pallet jacks to move materials around,
• Responsible for taking pictures of furniture prior to and after packaging to document completeness of shipment and quality of furniture when shipped out for the purposes of supporting TekCare claims,
• Knowledge of and adherence to safety policies and procedures.

PREREQUISITES

• High school diploma or equivalent; previous experience in a warehouse or manufacturing setting preferred,
• Comfortable and safe in the use of hand tools and power tools (specifically chop saws and cutting tools),
• Proven ability to perform heavy lifting and stand/maneuver for extended periods,
• Have a positive attitude and be willing to learn a variety of new skills/tasks,
• Must be organized and able to prioritize work activities,
• Is inquisitive by nature and driven by the "pursuit of excellence" to consistently ensure growth and quality,
• Demonstrates good initiative and safe work practice.

ASSETS

• Previous experience in a wood or manufacturing shop, and the use of power tools.
