Job Description

Position Summary:
Under the direct supervision of the San Diego PACE Compliance Manager, the Compliance Coordinator provides administrative support for compliance initiatives. The Compliance Coordinator is responsible for scheduling appointments, preparing meeting agendas, documenting meeting minutes, generating reports, maintaining policies and protocols, and supporting contractor compliance activities.

This position may need to travel to designated San Diego PACE facility locations and/or San Diego PACE contractor sites to assist with compliance initiatives.

Essential Functions of the Job:
• The Compliance Coordinator will assist in administering San Diego PACE’s Compliance Program and tracking associated compliance activities.
• Assist with scheduling meetings, preparing agendas, and recording meeting minutes for compliance activities.
• Assist with organizing internal and external audit initiatives.
• Assist with contractor compliance oversight and monitoring efforts.
• Assist with the development of, tracking, and implementation of staff trainings.
• Assist with tracking and trending compliance issues.
• Assist with developing and maintaining reporting, including those that require Microsoft Excel.
• Assist with developing presentations, including those that require Microsoft PowerPoint.
• Assist with monitoring regulatory communications from Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, Department of Health Care Services (DHCS), and other regulatory agencies.
• Assist management with the development, maintenance, and revision of internal policies and procedures in accordance with applicable regulatory, licensing, and contractual requirements.
• Assist management with researching legal and regulatory requirements related to the PACE Program.
• Ability to respond to questions with logic, clarity, calmness, and authority, leading to the desired support of actions by others.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Requires well-developed skills in meeting timeliness, flexibility, and attention-to-detail.
• Advanced organizational skills.

• Demonstrated skills in verbal communication and listening.
• Excellent writing skills.
• Assists the compliance team in developing and supporting an ethical culture at San Diego PACE including increasing awareness of compliance issues among management and employees and encouraging a culture where employees can raise concerns without fear of retaliation.
• Ability to manage multiple projects with strict and competing deadlines.
• Assist, as needed, management with compliance-related incident reports.
• Identify and maintain the organization's information privacy policies and procedures.
• Performs other regulatory compliance activities and monitoring initiatives as assigned by PACE Compliance Manager.
• Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, in-service meetings, and workshops.
• Attends meetings as required and participates in committees as directed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

Education Required:
• Minimum Associate’s degree or higher OR 1-3 years of relevant work experience can substitute for education.

Education Preferred:
• Bachelor’s degree.

Experience Required:
• Minimum 1 year of experience performing the duties within a Corporate Compliance Program.
• Minimum 1 year of intermediate experience in Microsoft Excel, including knowledge and application of Microsoft Excel formulas.
• Experience taking meeting minutes.
• Experience scheduling meetings in Microsoft Outlook or equivalent platform.
• Experience in Microsoft PowerPoint presentations.
• Experience in Microsoft OneNote.

• Knowledge of or willingness to learn Compliatric, Epic, FairWarning, QuickCAP.
• Advanced computer skills to learn specific applications.
• Meet a standardized set of competencies for the specific position description established by San Diego PACE and approved by CMS.

Equipment Used:
• Computers, phones, copy machines, fax machines and other office equipment.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:
• General Office Environment; prolonged sitting, occasional standing, and walking.
• May be required to work evenings and/or weekends.
• Occasional travel (up to ~30%) as required.
• Tuberculosis (TB) clearance.
• Must maintain current First Aid and CPR certification.

Universal Requirements
Pre-employment requirements include I-9, physical examination, positive background and reference check results, complete application, new hire orientation, and pre-employment TB clearance.
