Job Title: AI-First Software Development Lead (Business Analyst + Scrum Master + Hands-on Technical Lead)

Location: Onsite, NewJerseyy, USA

Work Timing: IST hours; flexibility to collaborate with customer teams as required

About the Role

The QA Manager will lead a small team of onshore and nearshore QA testers responsible for testing, automating, and documenting our internal back-office web applications. This is a hands-on leadership role: you'll set QA strategy and standards, mentor and grow the team, and still contribute directly to testing and automation. You'll partner closely with developers and business stakeholders and work within an agile environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of onshore and nearshore QA testers, including work planning, prioritization, and participation in hiring.
• Define and implement QA strategy, processes, and best practices across new and existing systems.
• Test, automate, and document internal back-office web applications hosted in Azure, along with the Databricks notebooks that support them.
• Ensure web applications and Power BI reports function correctly across desktop and mobile browsers.
• Test and validate Databricks notebooks, jobs/pipelines, including data transformations, data quality automations; building jobs/pipelines basedon tests.
• Design and automate data validation tests across Databricks, including source-to-target reconciliation, data quality checks,Unityy catalog, Databricks dashboard,s and verification of Power BI report figures against underlying data.
• Review team members' test code and ensure automation follows coding standards; optimize new and existing test suites.
• Investigate and profile application performance issues, and coordinate optimization efforts with development.
• Work with business users to understand their processes and propose technical and non-technical solutions to business problems.
• Track and report on quality metrics, test coverage, and release readiness.
• Stay current on QA tools and practices, including AI-assisted testing.

Required Qualifications

• 10+ years of QA experience, including 3+ years in a hands-on QA lead or manager role.
• Proven experiencein mentoring and growing a QA team.
• Strong experience with manual and automated API, UI, and database testing.
• Proficiency in Python and Pytest.
• Experience with Playwright for UI automation.
• Working knowledge of SQL (Spark SQL a plus).
• Experience with data validation or ETL/pipeline testing, including writing SQL-based reconciliation and data quality checks.
• Experience testing in cloud environments (Azure preferred).
• Experience with a test management tool (Qase preferred).
• Experience working in an agile environment.
• Strong process discipline and project management skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a customer-service mindset toward business users.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Databricks Data Quality framework, Automated Testing & ELT/Transformation Testing Frameworks, Databricks Automation Bundles.
• Experiencein testing or validating Power BI reports.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines GitHubb or Azure DevOps).
• Experience with performance testing tools.
• Experience managing distributed or nearshore teams.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code.
