ABOUT US

At Australia’s Oyster Coast, we believe oysters are the unsung heroes of the sea. With phenomenal health benefits, positive impacts on the environment, and quite simply, a fine food shared between friends – we’re committed to continually improving our farm to fork operations to provide consistently better oysters to the Australian market and beyond.

ABOUT THE JOB

Are you ready to dive into the exciting world of oysters but have no experience with seafood processing? No problem! We’re seeking passionate individuals to join our team, and we’ll provide the training you need. All you need is the right attitude and work ethic!

Your oyster processing activities will include:

• Washing, sorting, opening and packing of oysters to meet our business requirements, food safety standards and timeframes.

• Inspecting oysters for quality, grading and sorting them by size.

• Picking and packing oysters accurately to fulfill customer orders and expectations.

• Opening, packing and presenting oysters to our high standard.

• Identifying any oysters or batches that do not meet our quality standards and reporting them to the Team Leader.

• Clearly labelling all oysters opened with a product record number for traceability.

• Maintaining a tidy processing area in accordance with food safety guidelines.

• Performing cleaning and sanitising duties at the end of your shift.

ABOUT YOU

• Do you want to build a career with a strong regional employer and work in Australia’s growing sustainable seafood sector?

• Are you known for being punctual and reliable?

• Do you enjoy the challenge of maintaining a high level of productivity in a fast-paced, teamwork-driven environment?

• Do you possess a great work ethic, ready to tackle physical tasks and go the extra mile to get the job done?

• Are you happy working indoors and in a cold environment?

• Do you possess processing or food handling experience?

• Do you hold drivers and forklift licences?

If you answered yes to the above, we want to hear from you. While these qualifications and experiences are preferred, we welcome applications from people with various backgrounds and experiences. If you don’t meet all the criteria but possess the passion and dedication to learn about seafood processing, we want to hear from you.

WE OFFER

• Great pay rates and employee conditions.

• Opportunity for real career development – work your way up to Team Leader or Factory Manager and then into our senior management team.

• Opportunity to be part of a close-knit collaborative team in an expanding vertically integrated Australian oyster business.
