Overseas Production Management Engineer – Austria

Responsible for production operations at the contract manufacturing site in Austria, including production delivery, rework management, quality coordination, and operational reporting. Act as the primary on-site liaison between the company and the contract manufacturer to coordinate cross-functional resources, resolve production and quality issues, and ensure stable manufacturing operations and delivery target achievement.
Responsibilities
1. Delivery Control. Monitor the execution of production plans at the contract manufacturer, tracking production output, vehicle off-line progress, and warehouse inventory status. Identify delivery risks and drive corrective actions to ensure vehicle delivery targets are achieved.
2. Rework Management. Coordinate and manage rework activities for off-line vehicles.
Maintain tracking records for defect types, root causes, and rectification progress. Drive timely issue resolution and continuous improvement to reduce rework lead times.
3. Resource Coordination. Serve as the on-site liaison between the company and Magna's production, logistics, engineering, and other functional teams. Coordinate internal and external resources to resolve material, technical, and tooling-related issues. Organize and facilitate daily delivery review meetings.
4. Quality Management. Collaborated with the quality management team to drive corrective actions for quality issues at contract manufacturers, support CAPA implementation and verification, participate in on-site quality audits, and enhance process stability.
5. Operational Reporting. Developed and analyzed production delivery, rework, and exception reports, delivering regular management updates on operational performance, key risks, and improvement opportunities.
Qualifications
Requirements
1. Educational background in Vehicle Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
2. Minimum 3 years of experience in automotive production, manufacturing, or shopfloor operations. Experience in OEMs, CKD plants, overseas NEV manufacturing, or Austrian Tier 1 suppliers/contract manufacturers is preferred.
3. Solid understanding of vehicle manufacturing processes. Proficient in IATF 16949 and quality tools such as 8D and 5Why.
4. Fluent in English. German language skills and familiarity with the local industrial environment are highly preferred.
5. Results-oriented with strong cross-functional communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills in a multicultural manufacturing environment.
6. Six Sigma, PMP, or other relevant professional certifications are an advantage.
