Job Role

The Overseas Compliance Specialist is responsible for supporting and strengthening the company's corporate compliance, regulatory alignment, and legal risk management framework for its Indonesian operations.

Reporting to the Head of Compliance, this role serves as a key bridge between local business operations, regulatory authorities, external legal counsel, industry associations, and global stakeholders. The position focuses on identifying and mitigating regulatory risks, reviewing contracts and sensitive business documents, managing compliance incidents, and strengthening compliance awareness across the organization.

The ideal candidate is a commercially minded legal and compliance professional with strong analytical capabilities and the ability to translate complex legal and regulatory requirements into practical business solutions within a multinational corporate environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain professional communication with regulatory authorities, external legal counsel, industry associations, and key business stakeholders.
  • Monitor regulatory developments and identify potential legal and compliance risks affecting local business operations.
  • Develop and maintain compliance risk maps and recommend practical mitigation measures to management.
  • Conduct legal and compliance reviews of contracts, partnership agreements, business plans, and sensitive internal and external documents.
  • Identify potential compliance exposure and provide actionable recommendations to relevant business teams.
  • Lead and coordinate the resolution of compliance incidents, including proper documentation, escalation, and follow-up.
  • Monitor compliance implementation across business units and ensure alignment with corporate policies and applicable Indonesian regulations.
  • Develop and deliver internal compliance training programs to strengthen regulatory awareness and accountability across local teams.
  • Support the implementation and localization of global compliance policies for Indonesian operations.
  • Prepare compliance reports, risk assessments, regulatory analysis, and management updates for senior management and global stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure business initiatives comply with applicable regulations while supporting commercial objectives.


Candidate Requirements

  • Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Law (S1 Hukum), preferably from a reputable Indonesian university; graduates from UI, UGM, UNDIP, UNPAD, Atma Jaya, or UNPAR are strongly preferred.
  • Valid legal practicing qualification or Bar Admission such as PERADI or equivalent.
  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in compliance, corporate governance, regulatory affairs, or legal practice within a multinational company, top-tier law firm, or international financial institution.
  • International compliance certifications such as CAMS, CFCS, CIPP/E, CIPM, or ICA qualifications are strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of corporate compliance, regulatory risk management, legal research, and corporate governance.
  • Ability to translate complex legal and regulatory requirements into practical and actionable business solutions.
  • Strong contract review, analytical, legal research, presentation, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • High resilience and ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced and demanding multinational corporate environment.
  • Strong ownership, work ethic, execution discipline, and willingness to support urgent business requirements when necessary.
  • Adaptable to a structured, disciplined, and performance-oriented corporate culture.
  • Strong commercial awareness and result-oriented mindset, with the ability to balance compliance requirements with business objectives.
  • Fluent English proficiency, both written and spoken, is mandatory.
  • Fluent Mandarin Chinese proficiency is strongly preferred for direct communication with global HQ and executive-level reporting.
  • Willing to work full-time on-site in South Jakart
