Overnight Veterinary Technician Floor Lead

Lead, Mentor, and Make an Impact Every Night

Are you an experienced veterinary technician who thrives in a fast-paced emergency and specialty environment? Are you passionate about patient care, supporting your teammates, and helping a hospital run at its best?

Bay State Veterinary Emergency and Specialty Services (BSVESS) is seeking an Overnight Veterinary Technician Floor Lead to join our leadership team. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled technician who is ready to take the next step in their career by serving as a clinical resource, mentor, and operational leader while continuing to work hands-on with patients.

As the Overnight Floor Lead, you will partner closely with Technician Managers to support hospital operations, promote exceptional patient care, coach team members, and help create a positive and collaborative culture throughout the hospital.

What You'll Do

As a working leader, you will:

  • Serve as the primary overnight resource for technicians, assistants, and client service representatives
  • Lead by example and set the standard for professionalism, teamwork, and patient care
  • Provide real-time coaching, mentorship, and support to team members during shifts
  • Assist with patient flow, case prioritization, and hospital workflow
  • Support staff with advanced technical procedures and critical patient care
  • Help onboard and train new team members
  • Monitor patient care standards and hospital protocols to ensure consistency and quality
  • Collaborate with leadership to identify training opportunities and operational improvements
  • Help maintain a safe, organized, and efficient work environment
  • Escalate significant operational, staffing, patient care, or client service concerns when appropriate

What We're Looking For

  • Certified Veterinary Technician preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years of emergency, specialty, or critical care veterinary experience preferred
  • Strong technical and clinical veterinary skills
  • Natural leadership abilities with a passion for mentoring and developing others
  • Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to remain calm, focused, and effective in high-pressure situations
  • Commitment to delivering exceptional patient care and client service

  • Competitive pay commensurate with experience
    • Non-credentialed Techs: $22 to $29
    • Credentialed Techs: $24 to $31
    • VTS: $31 to $35
    • Plus $5/hour shift differential after 8pm for 2nd/3rd shift
