The Supportive Housing Program provides housing for seniors who have experienced homelessness and may be living with mental health and/or substance use challenges. The program offers onsite psychosocial and primary care supports aimed at promoting stability, wellness, and self-sufficiency within a supportive community environment.
Residents receive a wide range of supports, including intensive case management, harm reduction and addiction support, therapeutic and supportive counselling, 24-hour staffing, assistance with activities of daily living, nursing services, life skills development, and social, recreational, and volunteer opportunities. The program’s approach is guided by WoodGreen’s commitment to community development, anti-discrimination, and harm reduction principles, while working within relevant legislation and regulatory requirements.
Reporting to the Manager and/or Supervisor, Supportive Housing Programs, the Overnight Support Worker plays a key role in ensuring the safety and well-being of residents and the building during overnight hours. Responsibilities include providing reception and security support, monitoring common areas, responding to emergencies and resident alarms, implementing crisis and de-escalation strategies, providing after-hours supportive counselling, enforcing building policies, and completing required clerical, shift exchange, and risk management duties as part of a collaborative care team.
