REPORTS TO: Director of Engineering

STATUS: Hourly

Hotel Security is the highest priority for a hotel to ensure that all guests and curators feel safe within and around the building.   This role will require an individual who has the confidence to insert themselves in difficult situations and help quickly deescalate any scenario.  Below is a list of key responsibilities along with additional responsibilities that will be asked of this individual daily.

PRIMARY JOB DUTIES:

Patrol hotel grounds, parking lots, lobbies, restaurants, and hallways. Provide a sense of security to both hotel staff and guests simply by being present.

Escort belligerent guests off hotel property, especially in hotels that have bars.

Must be on call anytime during their shift to investigate disturbances reported by hotel staff and guests. ie; excess noise coming from a guest’s room or reports of suspicious people prowling the parking lot.

Responsible for any keys assigned to them.

Work with local law enforcement for any issues that may require needed support.

Responsible for ensuring that all closets to housekeeping areas are locked and secure.

Escort staff to and from their vehicles.

Assists guests with luggage.

Park and secure guest vehicles in the absence of valet.

Responsible for recording the guest’s information on the valet ticket and the location/parking spot the car was parked and properly advise the guest of any associated charge.

Provides gracious and professional service in an efficient manner. Perform all job duties toward the goal of maximizing guest service.

Conduct oneself in a professional manner with the awareness that all actions and communications are within guest view.

Report all maintenance problems for guest satisfaction.

Responsible for turning in all lost and found articles to the Housekeeping Office to be logged.

Additional tasks and responsibilities may be assigned at the discretion of the manager. Furthermore, tasks and responsibilities may be added or revised based on the volume of business and the need for the work to be completed at the present time.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Must be able to communicate clearly to deescalate situations calmly and effectively.

Understanding how to handle guests and patrons properly, by removing or escorting from a situation without physical altercations.

Confidence to approach guests in a professional manner and to alleviate staff from an unruly situations.

Ability to maintain a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (MVR)

Able to drive stick shift transmission. Able to drive all types of vehicles.

Strong understanding of the English language.

Ability to maintain excellent attendance and punctuality.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Exert physical effort in lifting/transporting at least 50 pounds.

Push/pull carts and other equipment up to 250 pounds.

Endure various physical movements throughout the work areas.

Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 4 hours in length.

Willing to work outside in all types of weather. Shifts will not be cancelled due to inclement weather, and all associates will be required to attend their scheduled shifts.
