Role Overview
We are hiring an Overnight Courtesy Patrol Officer to help maintain a safe, quiet, and well-maintained environment across our multifamily community during overnight hours. This role will conduct routine property patrols, monitor common areas and resident activity, respond to after-hours concerns, and report incidents or property issues to the management team.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct routine overnight patrols throughout the apartment community, including buildings, parking areas, entrances, hallways, amenities, and common areas.
- Maintain a visible presence throughout the property and monitor for unusual activity or potential resident and property concerns.
- Monitor community areas for noise disturbances, unauthorized activity, property damage, or violations of community policies.
- Respond professionally to after-hours resident concerns and assist with appropriate escalation when needed.
- Monitor parking areas and report abandoned vehicles, suspicious activity, access concerns, or other property-related issues.
- Check common areas and amenities for safety, cleanliness, lighting, access, or maintenance concerns.
- Identify and report potential safety hazards, property damage, leaks, lighting issues, or other maintenance concerns.
- Document patrol activities, resident concerns, incidents, and observations in shift or incident reports.
- Notify the Community Manager or appropriate AAM team member of significant overnight incidents or recurring concerns.
- Contact emergency services when necessary and follow established community emergency procedures.
- Support a quiet, respectful, and welcoming environment for residents throughout the overnight shift.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience in security, courtesy patrol, multifamily property management, hospitality, customer service, or a similar role preferred.
- Experience working in an apartment or multifamily community is a plus.
- Reliable and comfortable working independently during overnight hours.
- Strong observation, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Professional and respectful when interacting with residents.
- Basic smartphone/computer skills for communication and reporting.
- Reliable transportation preferred.
- Ability to remain alert and attentive throughout the overnight shift.
- Must be available for overnight shifts, including weekends as needed.
