As a Caregiver with Assisting Hands, you will deliver compassionate, dependable, and professional in-home care services to clients while supporting their comfort, safety, dignity, and independence. Working under the supervision of the Care Manager and direction of the Staffing Coordinator, you will assist clients with personal care, daily living activities, mobility support, and household tasks in accordance with each client’s individualized Plan of Care. This role is critical in creating a safe, clean, and supportive home environment for clients. Caregivers must be flexible and available to work varying schedules, including overnight, weekend, and holiday shifts based on client needs.

Education Requirements:


• High School Diploma or GED required.

Qualifications:


• Minimum of one (1) year of experience in home care, assisted living, long-term care, or a related healthcare setting preferred.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and caregiving skills.
• Ability to work overnights, weekend, and holiday assignments as needed.

• Care Manager

Key Responsibilities


1. Maintain a Clean & Safe Environment

• Perform light housekeeping duties, including cleaning bathrooms, kitchens, bedrooms, and common living areas.
• Assist with laundry, dishwashing, and routine household tasks to maintain a clean and sanitary environment.
• Promote a safe, organized, and comfortable living space that supports the client’s overall well-being.

2. Provide Personal Care & Assistance

• Assist clients with activities of daily living such as bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, shaving, and transfers.
• Support clients with mobility, ambulation, positioning, and prescribed exercise programs outlined in the Plan of Care.
• Provide assistance with meals, feeding, and other personal care needs as required.

3. Nutritional Support

• Prepare and serve meals according to client preferences and dietary requirements.
• Assist with meal planning and feeding to help ensure proper nutrition and hydration.

4. Monitor Client Health & Well-Being

• Observe and promptly report any changes in the client’s physical, emotional, or behavioral condition to the Care Manager or Staffing Coordinator.
• Maintain accurate documentation of care provided, including vital signs, intake/output, and other required health information.
• Identify and report safety concerns or unusual incidents in a timely manner.

5. Support Mobility & Physical Activities

• Safely assist clients with mobility equipment, including wheelchairs, walkers, gait belts, and Hoyer lifts.
• Encourage participation in range-of-motion exercises and other prescribed physical activities.
• Educate and support family members on safe caregiving practices when appropriate.

6. Medication Assistance

• Assist clients with self-administered medications by:

  • Retrieving medications and reading medication labels.
  • Providing medication reminders and assistance with proper administration.
  • Assisting clients with taking medications safely using water or other approved methods.
  • Documenting medication assistance activities and ensuring medications are stored appropriately.

7. Infection Control & Compliance

• Adhere to infection prevention and control standards, including proper hand hygiene and CDC guidelines.
• Follow all company policies, procedures, and caregiver standards outlined in the Employee Handbook, Policy & Procedure Manual, and Caregiver Training Manual.

Working Hours


• Work schedules are based on client care needs and staffing availability.
• Caregivers are required to maintain availability for overnight shifts as part of their regular schedule.
• Weekend and holiday availability may also be required depending on client assignments.

• Please note that a fixed number of hours cannot be guaranteed.
Compensation: $18.50 per hour
