The Overnight Bake-Off Baker is responsible for baking laminated pastries, quick breads, scones, cookies, and other baked goods for the café and its growing wholesale clients throughout San Diego, including the San Diego Symphony during its Fall-to-Spring season.
This role requires maintaining all product standards established by the café manager. Candidates must be available to start as early as 1:00 a.m., work weekends, and have reliable transportation.
Experience with proofing and baking laminated pastries is required, along with a professional understanding of baking and pastry fundamentals. The ability to independently lift up to 50 lbs. is also required.
This is an excellent opportunity for a recent culinary school graduate or someone looking to expand their baking and pastry skills. The position offers significant opportunities for growth within the bakery.
Reporting Structure
• Reports to the Kitchen Manager, Sous Chef, Executive Chef or General Manager
Key Responsibilities
Take the initiative in personal and professional growth and maintain any required certifications relevant to your role.
Attend daily briefings and actively engage in required activities to stay informed and contribute to the team’s success.
Wear a clean, neat uniform that meets club standards.
Preferred
Strong communication skills with the ability to follow instructions accurately.
Effective communication skills, including talking and hearing, with sufficient visual acuity.
Pots, pans, and other food storage containers (5 - 50 lbs.)
Additional hours are required to meet deadlines of the position, including weekends and/or holidays.
