About The Project:

Sydney Metro West is a transformational 24 km underground railway connecting Sydney CBD to Parramatta, with stations at Westmead, Parramatta, Sydney Olympic Park, North Strathfield, Burwood North, Five Dock, The Bays, Pyrmont and Hunter Street.

The Linewide package connects the entire system, delivering the critical rail infrastructure and technology that bring the metro network to life.

Project offices are located across several Sydney locations including the CBD, Clyde, Rosehill, The Bays and Burwood North.

About The Role:

We are seeking an experienced Overhead Wiring Supervisor to join our Sydney Metro West Linewide Project Team. The role will commence in January 2027 and is a full-time permanent position reporting directly to the Superintendent.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the work and performance of multiple teams & subcontractors to achieve outcomes.
  • Provide and take leadership responsibility in health, safety, and environment management.
  • Contribute to development of work methods and rolling short term construction programs and plan daily/weekly production work.
  • Build strong internal and external stakeholder management through positive, proactive, and professional communication to keep key personnel informed.
  • Complete progress reporting, and activities, reports for shift handovers and consistent regular reporting to the Superintendent including daily site diaries.
  • Read and understand plans, review design documentation, read drawings, and provide constructive review and implementing of final designs.
  • Apply contractual mechanisms of subcontractors.
  • Identify and mitigate risks prior to works commencing, communicate with and engage relevant stakeholders to control risk and contribute to build a risk management culture.
  • Select, train, and develop workforce leading hands / team leaders and ensure the observance of safety, other work standards, and fair and reasonable application of industrial agreements.
  • Maintain effective consultation with various workers’ representatives and committees on industrial and safety subjects handling issues as they arise and referring major issues to the Superintendent.
  • Perform all duties in accordance with John Holland policies, processes, systems, and procedures.
  • Contributing to the preparation and maintenance of technical and quality documentation, records and handover information as the works progress.
  • Undertake quantitative and qualitative safety, environment and quality risk assessment to ensureacceptable quality of structures and finishes.

About You:

  • Relevant Qualifications and training, e.g Cert III ESI Rail Traction and MEL53 qualification
  • Skill in review of OCS / OHW design documents, ability to understand drawings, provide constructability review and implement design plans.
  • Previous supervision experience.
  • A strong understanding and focus for Safety.
  • People and Performance Management of subcontractors, suppliers, and direct labour.
  • Demonstrable experience in Rail/Overhead Wiring Sector.
  • 25kv electrification experience.
  • Skill in use of document and record management, progress and project performance reporting compliance and procedures.
