Position: Overhead Crane Operator (Steel Co.)

Job Overview: We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Overhead Crane Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of crane operations and safety protocols, as well as experience in a steel manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate overhead cranes to move and position steel materials and products within the production facility
- Ensure safe and efficient operation of the crane at all times, following all safety protocols and procedures
- Inspect and maintain the crane, reporting any issues or malfunctions to the maintenance team
- Work closely with production team to ensure timely and accurate movement of materials and products
- Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of the crane and surrounding work area
- Monitor and record inventory levels of steel materials and report any shortages or discrepancies
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including safety regulations and quality standards
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure smooth operations and resolve any issues that may arise
- Attend training sessions and workshops to continuously improve skills and knowledge of crane operations and safety protocols
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 2 years experience operating overhead cranes, preferably in a steel manufacturing environment
- Valid crane operator certification
- Strong understanding of crane operations and safety protocols
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents
- Good physical stamina and ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Willingness to work flexible hours and overtime as needed
