The Overhaul Development Test technician role is an integral part of Solar Turbines customer focused production testing and engine development. Typical work will include routine Quality Testing of Gas Producers, Power Turbines, and Reduction Gearboxes to ensure conformance to Solar and/or customer specifications. There will be periods throughout the year that will include engine development testing which will expand the testing requirements and include additional facility equipment installation, complex data collection, working with various engineering disciplines, and specialized instrumentation.

Salary: $65,454.00 - $81,818.00 DOE
What you will do:
Participate in Test Cell design efforts and provide detailed feedback and ideas
Engage in Test Cell upgrade and commissioning activities.
Responsible for development equipment set up and removal. Examples include large ductwork, panels, instrumentation, and coordination of material moving equipment.
Perform complex development testing following development test agendas and under the direction of engineering.
Troubleshoot complex systems and understand engineering drawings.
Work closely with different engineering disciplines to run tests and collect data accurately and timely.
During development testing, technicians are expected to be available for the test, including weekends. This may include off-hours and overtime to cover absences.
Assist in calibration activities.
Installation, testing, troubleshooting (including performance and vibration data analysis), minor rework, and removal of units under test.
Performing scheduled and unscheduled maintenance (including troubleshooting) of test facilities and facility test equipment to ensure data accuracy while minimizing test cell downtime.
What you will have:
Competent in mechanical and electrical troubleshooting.
Able to read electrical and instrumentation drawings.
Use and read precision measurement tooling (dial indicators, calipers, micrometers).
Understand and operate shaft alignment tooling.
Know the fundamental principles of the operation of gas turbines.
Know the components of a gas turbine.
Able to read PLC ladder logic (Programmable Logic Controller).
Experience in installing or removing large pieces of equipment. Familiar with lifting and rigging techniques.
What will set you apart:
Turbine test cell experience.
Familiar with operating principles of gas turbine engines and mechanical and/or electronic equipment.
Must possess demonstrated computer skills.
Familiar with data collection tools, vibration analysis, and PLCs.
Must be able to communicate effectively within a cross-functional environment.
Ability to read engineering drawings and schematics.
Payroll transfer not available for this position
This position requires working onsite five days a week.Visa Sponsorship is not available for this position.
