Job Description

CONFISA Staffing Services is conducting a confidential search for an Outside Sales Representative on behalf of a growing U.S.-based company in the tobacco and specialty consumer products industry.

The primary objective of this position is to identify, develop, secure, and grow new distributor and wholesale relationships within an assigned territory.

This is not a traditional route-sales or account-maintenance position. We are looking for a proactive sales professional who knows how to build a market: identify potential distributors, reach owners and key decision-makers, develop new business opportunities, negotiate commercial relationships, support account activation, and drive repeat business.

The ideal candidate will bring relevant experience and, preferably, an existing network within tobacco distribution, smoke-shop distribution, convenience-store wholesale, cash-and-carry, specialty retail, consumer packaged goods (CPG), or related distribution channels.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify, prospect, qualify, and develop new distributors and wholesale accounts within the assigned territory.
• Build and maintain an active pipeline of potential distribution partners.
• Reach distributor owners, purchasing managers, category buyers, sales leaders, and other key decision-makers.
• Present products and commercial opportunities to prospective distribution partners.
• Develop new business through direct outreach, referrals, industry relationships, field visits, and market activity.
• Support the onboarding and activation of new distributors.
• Work with distribution partners to expand retail penetration and generate sustainable repeat business.
• Identify opportunities to increase territory coverage, account activity, order frequency, and revenue.
• Monitor market conditions, competitive activity, customer feedback, and new commercial opportunities.
• Maintain accurate CRM records, pipeline information, follow-up activity, and sales forecasts.
• Travel regularly throughout the assigned territory.
• Achieve established objectives for distributor acquisition, account activation, revenue growth, and market expansion.

What We Are Looking For

Candidates should demonstrate:

• Proven experience in outside sales, business development, wholesale sales, distributor development, or channel sales.
• Strong experience prospecting and opening new business, rather than exclusively servicing existing accounts.
• Ability to identify and reach distributor owners, buyers, purchasing managers, and other decision-makers.
• Strong sales presentation, negotiation, closing, and relationship-development skills.
• Ability to independently manage a geographic territory and sales pipeline.
• Experience using CRM systems and maintaining disciplined follow-up.
• Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and availability for frequent territory travel.
• High school diploma or GED required.

Strong preference will be given to candidates with direct experience and established relationships within tobacco, smoke-shop, convenience-store, wholesale, CPG, or closely related distribution environments.

Candidates who have successfully opened new distributor accounts and converted those relationships into repeat orders and sustainable territory growth will be particularly relevant to this opportunity.

• 3+ years of successful sales experience in outside sales, business development, wholesale sales, distributor development, channel sales, or a closely related commercial role.
• Demonstrated experience prospecting, developing, and closing new business, not only managing existing accounts.
• Experience identifying and developing distributors, wholesalers, or other channel partners.
• Ability to reach and influence distributor owners, purchasing managers, category buyers, sales leaders, and other key decision-makers.
• Strong preference for candidates with experience in tobacco, smoke-shop products, convenience-store products, wholesale distribution, CPG, beverages, or other related route-to-market industries.
• Existing relationships with distributors, wholesalers, smoke-shop distributors, convenience-store wholesalers, cash-and-carry operators, or relevant retail chains are highly desirable.
• Demonstrated ability to open new accounts and develop them into recurring business.
• Strong prospecting, sales presentation, negotiation, closing, and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to independently manage a geographic territory, sales pipeline, travel schedule, and follow-up activities.
• Experience working with CRM systems and maintaining accurate sales activity and pipeline information.
• Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and ability to travel frequently throughout the assigned territory.
• High school diploma or GED required; Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Sales, or a related field is preferred.
• Self-driven, resilient, results-oriented, and comfortable developing a territory from the ground up.

This is a full-time, territory-based sales opportunity with a growing U.S. organization expanding its distribution presence across multiple markets.

Compensation:

• Base salary: USD $30,000 annually
• Uncapped commission potential
• Opportunity to grow income based on sales performance and territory development

Travel:

Frequent travel throughout the assigned territory is required. Candidates must have reliable transportation and be comfortable conducting in-person visits with distributors, wholesalers, and customers.

Territory:

Specific territories and geographic markets will be discussed with qualified candidates during the recruitment process.
