Job Description
- A longstanding Specialty Produce Distributor serving the foodservice industry across the New York metropolitan area is in growth mode.
- This role will manage and grow a portfolio of foodservice accounts — restaurants, hotels, institutions, and catering operations — while prospecting and developing new business.
- This role will focus on sales and business development in Westchester County as well as Upstate New York and potentially Connecticut
- The target profile is someone who thrives on relationships, knows how to walk into a kitchen and speak the language, and understands that in specialty produce, trust is everything.
- This opportunity includes full benefits, (health insurance, 401K, etc.) bonus potential as well as additional exciting performance incentives tied to sales performance and gross profit.
- This is a field-based role with frequent travel throughout the territory. Our client envisions a remote/hybrid role, with potentially one day per week in their greater NYC office.
Required Experience & Qualifications Include
- Minimum of 2 years of foodservice or specialty food experience. Sales background preferred.
- Strong knowledge of the Westchester County / Upstate NY restaurant and hospitality landscape.
- Culinary background or hands-on kitchen experience a plus — you should be able to talk about product with confidence.
- Self-motivated, organized, and comfortable working independently in the field.
- Reliable transportation and ability to travel throughout the sales territory.
- College degree (B.A. /B.S.) in related fields of study desired, or relevant industry experience.
The base salary the company may reasonably expect to pay for this role is $70,000 to $80,000. The actual salary for this role will be determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to the candidate’s skills and experience. The base salary range does not include other compensation elements, (commission, bonuses, etc.) which will compose the total compensation package, or other benefits available to the position.
