Job Description

The Outreach Program Coordinator expands access to Girl Scouts by developing and leading programs in schools, community centers, and underserved areas. This role includes building new partnerships, planning and delivering badge experiences, and reporting outcomes to support continuous improvement and membership growth. This position will cover the Scranton and Wilkes Barre areas.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, implement, and deliver Girl Scout programs in schools and community organizations, in accordance with GSHPA and Pennsylvania guidelines.
  • Contribute to the ongoing evaluation of current programming efforts. Evaluate programs consistently with the objective of continually revising and updating curriculum and program delivery for maximum impact.
  • Ensure timely notification to management of areas of improvement, concern, including completing accident and/or incident reports and submission to management within 24 hours.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with educational institutions and community partners to support new and existing programming opportunities.
  • Travel throughout the assigned region to meet with potential partners, collaborate with diverse community groups, and represent the council in the community.
  • Assist girls in Product Program sales by collaborating with schools, organizing booths and cookie delivery logistics, and working with parents.
  • Build strong relationships with girls and their families through regular communication and interaction.
  • Prepare and present organized, structured, and informative presentations in a clear and understandable manner appropriate for the individual or a group.
  • Maintain high standards of health and safety in all activities for program participants and staff by always adhering to the GSUSA Safety Checkpoints.
  • Handle confidential information with integrity and discretion.
  • Work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.
  • Provide professional, quality customer service to all customers (members, volunteers, staff, and other community contacts.)
  • Demonstrate commitment to the Girl Scout mission and the Girl Scout Leadership Experience by representing GSHPA in a positive and professional manner.
  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of council-wide initiatives and/or cross functional teams to further the mission of GSHPA.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Education or related field, or equivalent experience required.
  • At least 3 years of previous experience developing, conducting, and/or supervising innovative youth and community programs.
  • Bilingual Spanish/English preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and virtual meeting platforms.
  • First Aid/CPR/AED certified by a nationally recognized provider (or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire) required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize a high volume of work while managing multiple deadlines in a continually changing work environment.
  • Work with individuals of diverse backgrounds and ages in a professional manner.
  • Pass and maintain required background clearances.
  • Possess and maintain a valid driver's license; access to reliable transportation required.
  • Travel throughout the council, as needed.
  • Lift/carry 30 pounds.
