We Require
Bachelor’s degree in public health, health education, or a related field
An equivalent combination of post-secondary education and/or job-related experience may substitutefor the minimum qualifications
We Also Value
Experience providing STI/HIV services
Experience conducting outreach, community organizing, or project management
Bilingual in English and Spanish
Job Contributions
Form collaborative relationships with new and existing partners to conduct outreach activities and mobile clinic services throughout the community
Coordinate, schedule, and conduct outreach activities at locations where high-risk individuals congregate
Organizes special events, including testing events and mobile clinic events
Develop marketing materials such as flyers, brochures, and other items that promote outreach events and mobile clinic activities
Prepares and manages an annual budget of costs associated with outreach activities and mobile clinic operations
Prepares reports for management on outreach activities and mobile clinic services provided
Communicates outreach events and mobile clinic activities to the community through social media and other basic marketing platforms
Develop and implement strategies for outreach and recruitment programs
Working Conditions
Work will occur in an office and field environment and may be subjected to extreme temperatures, wetness, humidity, respiratory hazards, noise, vibration, moving mechanical parts, fumes, odors, dust, mists, gases, poor ventilation, chemicals, oils, inadequate lighting, workspace restrictions, intense noises, travel, noxious odors, unsanitary conditions, chemicals, electricity, moving mechanical parts, varying weather conditions, and other related conditions and situations
Ability to exert 20-25 lbs. occasionally, 10-25 lbs. frequently, or up to 10 lbs. constantly
Valid Arizona driver's license is required upon hire
Requires traveling to and from job-related locations during the course of a scheduled workday, subject to County policies regarding use of County vehicles and/or private vehicles on County business
Travel will also be required to attend conferences, training, and possibly varying work locations as assigned by the Program Supervisor, Division Administrator, or Medical Director
Must be able to participate in emergency response training as scheduled and be available to respond as directed in the event of a public health emergency
Within one month of hire, all employees are required to provide evidence of immunity or receive immunizations for vaccine-preventable illnesses for any position within the Maricopa County Department of Public Health; required immunizations include MMR (measles, mumps, rubella), Tdap (whooping cough and diphtheria), Varicella (chickenpox), and annual Influenza; some positions require a Hepatitis B vaccine and/or a Tuberculosis test
