Examples of duties
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Essential functions may include but are not limited to the functions listed below. Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
- Oversee the Eligibility, Recruitment, Selection, Enrollment & Attendance (ERSEA) content area services; serve as the main point of contact for services; ensure compliance with city, state, federal and organizational guidelines.
- Develop and provide training in ERSEA content areas to ensure continuous learning through training, observation and coaching; develop training schedules; ensure staff and visitors abide by outlined procedures in completing attendance, documenting issues and conducting follow-up; provide training to families as needed.
- Develop and implement a system to monitor program performance and quality of services including performing file reviews, analysis of data and conducting family interviews; ensure program is meeting needs of eligible families.
- Monitor and maintain program waiting lists ranking children in accordance to selection criteria; contact families as needed to update information and/or re-submit applications; respond to inquiries from families of prospective enrollees regarding program services, enrollment and/or waitlist status; utilize the Eligibility list as needed.
- Monitor intra-agency referrals and ensure timely access to resources and services for high-need children and/or families.
- Develop and implement a recruitment plan including establishing and maintaining an outreach and recruitment process to increase enrollment of eligible children and to obtain and maintain full enrollment in programs; coordinate with community providers.
- Recruit families to participate in center and home related program activities.
- Receive and respond to classroom requests for program services including, but not limited to, facilitation of Family Team Meetings; provide intervention strategies as needed.
- Ensure program database and record-keeping and filing systems are accurate, updated, monitored and maintained; develop, prepare and present a variety of program reports; conduct program audits; report findings; create performance improvement plans (PIP) as needed.
- Recommend and assist in the development and implementation of goals, objectives and policies and procedures; monitor work activities to ensure compliance with established policies and procedures; make recommendations for changes and improvements.
- Participate in the preparation and administration of assigned budget; submit budget recommendations; monitor expenditures.
- Prepares and distribute program information to staff and families.
- Prepare, develop and assist in the completion of a variety of program reports and assessments including, but not limited to: annual Self and Community Assessment, program/agency planning and ERSEA written plan; coordinate with applicable program management to ensure proper governing body approval.
SUPPLEMENTAL FUNCTIONS:
- Attend and participate in professional group meetings; stay abreast of new trends and innovations in the field of Eligibility, Recruitment, Selection, Enrollment & Attendance in early childhood.
- Perform related duties and responsibilities as required.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in social work or family studies; and
Three (3) years of experience in determining eligibility and conducting enrollment and recruitment in social service programs.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Possession of a valid New Mexico Driver's License, or the ability to obtain by date of hire.
Possession of a City Operator's Permit (COP) within six (6) months from date of hire.
Possession of a valid C.P.R. certificate within six (6) months from date of hire.
Possession of a valid First Aid certificate within six (6) months from date of hire.
Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred.
