Summary:

The Outpatient Therapist (Mental Health Professional) is responsible for providing diagnostic and therapeutic services to individuals and their families. The Mental Health Professional participates actively in all relevant team, supervision, and general staff meetings, to enhance the services of Community Services Group. The Mental Health Professional reports to the Program Coordinator or Director.

This position is part of our Adult and Youth Mental Health (MH) Services Outpatient Services in Lancaster.

Full-Time (40 hrs./wk.) Monday to Friday office hours with 2 evenings per week.

Wage Information:

Starting salary: LSW/LAPC/LAMFT- $50,000. LPC/LCSW/LMFT- $55,000. Negotiable based on experience/licensure.

Job Description:

  • Provides treatment services to families including therapy, skills training, and education designed to enable families to care for their mentally ill or emotionally disturbed children in the home.
  • Works closely with other mental health specialists, such as psychiatrists, psychologists, clinical social workers, case managers, psychiatric nurses, school counselors, and behavioral health providers.
  • Provides diagnostic and therapeutic services in accordance with standards applicable to mental health professionals.
  • Provide individual, family and/or group counseling services to children, adolescents, and families.
  • Provides on-call services as scheduled by the Program Director.
  • Actively participates in clinical team and staff meetings.
  • Provides clinical counseling in community settings, when applicable.
  • Collaborate with other professionals, but primarily works independently.
  • Knowledge of behavior health diagnosis and coding for children/adolescent, adults, and the elderly.
  • Ability to collaborate with the family and/or primary caregiver and/or other members of the healthcare team.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) Additional Duties

  • The DBT Therapist is responsible for providing comprehensive DBT treatment with fidelity to the model, working with both adolescents and adults
  • Provide DBT individual therapy, DBT skills group, and DBT coaching call service.
  • Conduct DBT assessments.
  • Utilize core DBT techniques, including diary card review, chain analysis, skills coaching, and the target hierarchy.
  • Attend the DBT consultation team consistently to discuss client cases, therapist needs, and program issues.
  • Complete the DBT foundational training, required mentoring, and homework assignments (including session observation/videotaping).
  • Commit to providing treatment for two years after completing training.
  • Develop a therapeutic rapport with clients and team members.
  • Be willing to accept constructive feedback and show a willingness for change within the consultation team.

Qualifications:

This position requires one of the following combinations of education and experience:

Master’s or doctorate degree from an accredited college or university in social work, counseling, psychology or a related field; AND

Licensed as one of the following: Licensed Social Worker (LSW), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Associate Professional Counselor (LAPC), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), License Associate Marriage and Family Therapy (LAMFT) or License Marriage and Family Therapy (LMFT).
