Job Description

Coastal Horizons Center has an opportunity for an Outpatient Therapist to join our Flourishing Families Program in Moore County. Our Flourishing Families program is located in Southern Pines, NC and provides specialized services to parenting women with substance use disorders, her children, and her identified supports. This program provides as array of services including comprehensive clinical assessments, individual therapy, peer support services, psychiatric services, and medication assisted treatment.

JOB TITLE: Outpatient Therapist (Moore County)

PROGRAM: Flourishing Families Outpatient Therapist (Southern Pines, NC)

SCHEDULE: Monday – Friday, 8am-5pm

Required Educational/ Experiential Qualifications:

  • Graduation from a Master’s degree program in clinical psychology, counseling, or social work.
  • NCSAPPB Licensure as a LCAS/LCASA; or LPA, or LCMHC/LCMHCA, LCSWA/LCSW
  • Experience working with culturally diverse children and families, including parent-child therapeutic work and play therapy

POSITION HIGHLIGHTS:

  • Conducts comprehensive clinical assessments for individuals referred into the program
  • Provides counseling, crisis intervention, follow up, outreach, and support for the specialized population
  • Evaluates the client and family situation, with emphasis on the parent-child relationship and child needs; conducts an in-depth comprehensive clinical interview to determine psycho-social, mental health, substance use and medical needs and documents diagnoses and recommendations; develops a person-centered plan based on this assessment; provides ongoing monitoring, assessment and updates to the Person-Centered and Crisis Plans.
  • Utilizes a two-generation perspective, and helps the parent gain insight regarding personal history (including substance use and trauma history), feelings for the child, and current parenting practices.
  • Provides parenting support utilizing the Circle of Security Model. Engages with both the caregiver and child in a supportive, reflective, and exploratory manner.
  • Collaborates effectively with Peer Support Specialist and Coordinator to facilitate case management type services to arrange, link or integrate multiple services as well as assessment and reassessment of the client’s need for services. Informs the client about benefits, community resources, and services; arranges for clients to receive benefits and services; and monitors the provision of services.
