Job Description

Deaconess Kentucky Specialty Clinic is seeking a highly motivated Outpatient Psychiatristto help grow outpatient behavioral health services in Hopkinsville, KY. This role offers strong clinical and administrative support in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Year 1 guaranteed base salary: $350,000
  • Sign-on bonus: $75,000
  • Additional earning potential: Psychiatrists typically earn $400,000–$500,000+based on productivity

Practice Setting:
This outpatient role focuses on psychiatric evaluation, medication management, and ongoing treatment in a team-based setting that includes:

  • Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioners (PMHNPs)
  • Licensed therapists providing individual outpatient services

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform psychiatric assessments and diagnose mental health conditions
  • Develop and manage individualized treatment plans
  • Provide medication management and follow-up care
  • Collaborate with PMHNPs, therapists, and nursing staff
  • Supervise PMHNPs as needed
  • Provide co-signatures for therapists
  • Maintain accurate EMR documentation
  • Participate in case conferences and quality initiatives
  • Follow ethical, legal, and regulatory standards

Call Responsibilities:
Jennie Stuart Medical Center operates a 12-bed adult inpatient behavioral health unit.

  • Weeknight call: approx. once every 2 weeks (5:00 p.m. – 8:00 a.m.)
  • Weekend call: approx. 1 in 6 weekends
  • Duties include intake triage, admission orders, and inpatient rounding on weekends

Qualifications:

  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry (MD or DO)
  • Eligible for Kentucky medical licensure
  • Outpatient psychiatry experience preferred
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
