
BASIC PURPOSE OF THE JOB
Licensed pharmacist with a working knowledge of pharmacy and clinical applications related to pharmacy. The pharmacist dispenses medications and pharmaceutical preparations as prescribed by the provider. The pharmacist maintains proper records (i.e. computerized patient profiles) and supplies information regarding pharmaceuticals to hospital staff and patients. Evaluates medication orders for appropriate medication use.
Supervisory Responsibilities: YES; Pharmacy Technicians/Interns/Students
Minimum Education: Bachelors Required in Pharmacy, Doctor of Pharmacy Preferred
License/Certification Required: Pharmacy license in the State of Tennessee, Board Certification Preferred
Minimum Work Experience: 3 years of hospital pharmacy experience preferred.
