Phlebotomist - Outpatient Lab Service Technician: performs venous capillary, and line collections, and Point of Care (POC) testing of all ages to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. Subject matter expert on instructing patients with collections of various specimen types. Performs all processes and procedures according to protocol. Responsible for accurate patient identification, specimen integrity and sample labeling. Interacts with customers in a pleasant, efficient and cooperative manner. Performs work in a fast pace environment. Works cooperatively with peers, gives and receives constructive feedback. Responsible for training, educating and mentoring new and existing staff, troubleshooting and resolving problems. Must be able to prioritize work, accommodate scheduling adjustments, and have good decision making skills. Must maintain a professional image at all times. Participates on special projects as assigned by the management team and serves as a resource to others. May be required to attend the Mayo Clinic phlebotomy training program.
*Individuals hired to this position are required to complete 2 years in this position before becoming eligible to transfer to other positions within Mayo Clinic

High school diploma or equivalent and a graduate of a phlebotomy training program that provides a clinical rotation or 3 months of phlebotomy experience. MLT/MT/CLS degreed candidates with phlebotomy experience.
