Job Description

SUMMARY
To greet and welcome guests to outlet, assist in seating and maintaining organization and order within the restaurant

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Provide quality products, excellent service and a friendly atmosphere for all customers
• Operate MICROS computer systems
• Greet customers using eye to eye contact when they enter with a smiling friendly manner
• Seat customers to their satisfaction. By rotating stations for servers
• Answer telephone within 3 rings using appropriate time of day greeting i.e. Good morning, afternoon, evening
• Receive reservations and post in reservation book. Parties of 10 or more will be taken by management, if management is not available, get name and telephone number and the Manager or Assistant Manager will contact.
• Keep accurate seating charts
• Check cleanliness of tables, chairs and floors, doors, windows, menus, report to manager need for new menus
• Converse with customers, report any complaints to manager
• Help restaurant employees if needed by pre bussing tables or clearing and resetting
• Check computer systems for paper each shift. Restock all needed items for station and for deli area
• Maintain proper sanitation, safety procedures and cleanliness in work area
• Follow all policies and procedures outlined by Manager and the employee handbook
• Act as an extension of the security department in protecting the assets of the hotel and all guests by observing and reporting and questionable activity
• Assume all responsibilities as delegated by the Manager and do any or all other duties that may be required to fulfill customer needs and requests
• Attend all meetings and complete online trainings
• Thank the guests as they depart with inviting them back for their next meal or visit
• Must understand and abide by environmental practices of the resort
• Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Previous greeting experience is preferred
MICROS experience preferred

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Applicant needs to be able to work in a fast paced environment and able to work varied hours to include weekends and holidays. Time off requests are only granted if business allows. Applicant must be able to work well as an individual and as a member of a team with a goal of providing outstanding guest service.

TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk
• Stand, walk, bend, stoop, reach, twist, turn, and carry up to 35 lbs or more, continually for up to 8 or more hours
• Have the ability to walk up and down stairs
• Carry oval serving trays and tray jacks that are loaded with dishes and or food
• Able to move tables and chairs as needed for seating arrangements
• Able to walk on carpet and concrete surfaces
• Able to read write and count money

TYPICAL MENTAL DEMANDS
Applicant needs to be able to stay upbeat and positive in a fast paced work environment.

WORKING CONDITIONS
• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
• Indoors and outdoors in both hot and cold environments
• May be required to work in other departments
