About the Role

An exciting casual opportunity to join as an Outdoor Recreation Activity Instructor

You will provide exceptional customer service for our outdoor activity-based programs by safely facilitating and utilising activities run by The Collaroy Centre.

This will require you to teach skills and techniques in activities such as High Ropes, Abseiling, Laser tag, Team building, Rock Climbing, Archery to name a few of the activities on offer at the centre.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitating activities for groups of all ages and backgrounds, liaising with teachers and other activity instructors.

  • Interacting with campers and helping provide them with a unique and memorable experience.

  • Maintaining maintenance and daily checks on activities and equipment.

  • Capacity and willingness to be familiar, understand and comply with organisational policy & procedures.

  • Ability to manage critical situations with a professional and calm manner.

  • Maintain relevant qualifications & skills including Rescue training.

About You

Ideally you will be working towards qualifications in Sports and Recreation, Fitness or Outdoor Education. On-the-job training will be provided to National Standards in a variety of Outdoor Adventure Activities.

Requirements of the role:

  • Current NSW Working with Children Check

  • Need to be 18 years or older

  • A national police record check is required

  • Compulsory Code of Conduct, WHS and Bullying and Harassment training modules are completed and up to date

The Royal Children's Hospital (RCH) has been providing outstanding care for Victoria's children and their families for over 147 years.

We are the major specialist paediatric hospital in Victoria and our care extends to children from Tasmania, southern New South Wales and other states around Australia and overseas.

With a passionate, highly skilled and committed staff campus wide of over 5,000, we provide a full range of clinical services, tertiary care and health promotion and prevention programs for children and young people.

We are the designated state-wide major trauma centre for paediatrics in Victoria and a Nationally Funded Centre for cardiac and liver transplantation.
