Primary Responsibilities

The primary role of the Outbound Transportation Analyst is to support the efficient and cost-effective execution of the Company's outbound transportation network. The incumbent is responsible for coordinating and monitoring outbound freight activities, validating and processing transportation invoices, maintaining transportation data and reporting, and supporting carrier performance management. This role works closely with Transportation, Warehouse Operations, Customer Care, Finance, and external carriers to ensure timely product delivery, accurate freight payment, and continuous improvement of transportation processes.

Essential Functions

  • Support and participate in food safety programs including SQF (Safe Quality Food)
  • Coordinate and monitor outbound transportation activities to ensure on-time delivery performance and customer service excellence.
  • Manage the verification, reconciliation, and processing of a high volume of transportation invoices while ensuring accuracy and compliance with carrier agreements.
  • Review freight charges, investigate billing discrepancies, and resolve invoice exceptions with carriers and internal stakeholders.
  • Maintain carrier rate tables, transportation master data, and freight costing information within company systems.
  • Develop and maintain transportation reports, dashboards, and key performance indicators (KPIs) related to service, costs, carrier performance, and delivery execution.
  • Analyze transportation spend and identify opportunities for cost savings, operational efficiencies, and process improvements.
  • Monitor shipment activity and proactively address transportation issues, delays, service failures, and customer delivery concerns.
  • Support freight accruals, month-end reporting, and transportation-related financial analysis.
  • Work closely with Warehouse Operations, Customer Care, Sales, Procurement, and Finance to ensure efficient transportation execution.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with carriers, brokers, and logistics service providers.
  • Assist with carrier performance reviews, transportation projects, routing optimization initiatives, and continuous improvement activities.
  • Prepare ad hoc transportation analysis and management reports as required.
  • Maintain good attendance, safe work practices, and safeguard confidential company information.
  • Other duties and special projects as assigned.

Minimum Requirements, Qualifications, Additional Skills, Aptitude

  • College diploma or university degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Transportation, Business, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of transportation, logistics, supply chain, or freight audit experience.
  • Experience processing high volumes of transportation invoices and freight billing.
  • Strong knowledge of transportation operations, carrier management, and freight cost analysis.
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills; experience with SAP, TMS, and Power BI is an asset.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective working relationships.
  • Results-oriented, self-directed, and customer-focused with a commitment to continuous improvement.
