What Does the Job Involve?
The SaaS sector continues to accelerate, with outbound sales becoming increasingly competitive as buyer attention becomes harder to earn. Traditional high-volume, low-relevance outbound approaches are yielding diminishing returns. The businesses that succeed combine disciplined ICP targeting, multi-channel sequencing, personalised messaging, and data-driven iteration to generate qualified pipeline efficiently. AI-powered prospecting tools and intent data platforms are reshaping what great outbound execution looks like.
As an Outbound Sales Lead, you will be responsible for building and running Smartly’s outbound pipeline generation engine. This role leads the outbound motion for Smartly, designs outbound sequences and prospecting cadences, and ensures outbound effort is targeted, measurable, and continuously improving in efficiency and quality. The Outbound Sales Lead is accountable for outbound-sourced pipeline volume, quality, and conversion, ensuring that proactive prospecting is a predictable, scalable contributor to Smartly’s revenue targets. The Outbound Sales Lead will bring demonstrated experience and a track record of success in outbound activities and sales development leadership within a SaaS or technology-enabled subscription business. You will have a track record of building and coaching SDR/BDR teams, designing high-converting outbound sequences, and consistently generating qualified pipeline against targets.
