Purpose

The Forklift Driver will ensure the safe and efficient movement of goods in and out of the warehouse, playing a key role in maintaining the flow of production. This position involves handling the loading and unloading of goods, accurately placing materials in storage, and ensuring all safety standards are adhered to within the manufacturing environment

Responsibilities

  • Operate forklifts for loading, unloading, and transporting materials within the warehouse and production areas.

  • Ensure safe handling of materials, avoiding damage, and adhering to safety protocols at all times.

  • Maintain accurate records of inventory, including tracking incoming and outgoing goods using warehouse management systems.

  • Conduct routine checks and basic maintenance of forklifts to ensure optimal operation.

  • Collaborate with warehouse staff for efficient workflow and proper storage practices.

  • Assist in warehouse housekeeping and ensure that storage areas are clean, organized, and comply with company standards.

  • Report any operational or safety issues to the warehouse supervisor.

  • Support stocktaking and inventory management activities.

Basic Qualifications

  • Education: SPM or Diploma Logistics or related field.

  • Forklift certification from a recognized training institution is required.

  • At least 2-3 years of experience operating forklifts in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.

  • Familiarity with inventory management systems and warehouse procedures.

  • Ability to operate different types of forklifts (e.g., counterbalance, reach truck) as required.

  • Strong understanding of health and safety regulations, especially within manufacturing environments.

  • Basic knowledge of equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.

Preferred Characteristics

  • Ensure accuracy in all forklift operations and material handling.

  • Work closely with other warehouse and production team members to meet operational goals.

  • Consistently demonstrate punctuality, reliability, and dedication to assigned tasks.

  • Ability to identify issues related to forklift operations or warehouse management and suggest practical solutions.

  • Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to varying workloads.
