Job Description

🔹 Core Responsibilities & Testing Scope

  • Candidates must be available for a Face-to-Face (F2F) interview as part of the hiring process
  • Perform end-to-end testing of OTT applications (VOD & Live TV) across multiple platforms: Smart TVs (Samsung), Roku, Apple TV, and mobile devices
  • Validate video playback quality, UI/UX behavior, and overall application performance under different scenarios
  • Conduct testing for Live TV streaming, Video on Demand (VOD), and content metadata (titles, thumbnails, descriptions, categorization)
  • Identify playback issues such as buffering, lag, resolution drops, and platform-specific inconsistencies
  • Ensure consistent user experience across devices, OS versions, and network conditions
  • Validate firmware updates and application releases to ensure stability and no regression issues
  • Execute test cases across different environments and configurations for comprehensive coverage
  • Apply strong understanding of OTT workflows and streaming lifecycle for accurate validation

🔹 Debugging, Tools & Collaboration

  • Analyze network logs and traffic using tools like Charles Proxy and Fiddler to troubleshoot streaming issues
  • Identify root causes related to API failures, latency, CDN issues, and playback interruptions
  • Log, track, and manage defects using Jira with proper documentation and prioritization
  • Collaborate closely with developers and cross-functional teams to reproduce, debug, and resolve issues
  • Verify bug fixes and ensure quality standards before release
  • Create and maintain basic automation scripts using Java and open-source tools
  • Support test automation efforts to improve efficiency and reduce manual workload
  • Demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills in debugging complex issues
  • Maintain clear communication and documentation for test results, defects, and resolutions
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of application quality and overall user experience
