Position Highlights:
Clinical Scope:
• Performs as “scrub” assistant to the surgeon in major and minor surgery and procedures of the ear, nose, and throat.• Occasionally performs as first surgical assistant rendering assistance to the surgeon.• Performs other such tasks as point of use cleaning for contaminated instruments.• Responsible for the care, identification, labeling, and delivery of specimens to pathology.• Checks operating room set-up for arrangement of supplies and instruments, rearranging as necessary.• Accomplishes routine safety checks and operator preventive maintenance on fixed and moveable medical equipment and fixtures.• Perform routine and specialized housekeeping activities.• Prepares and administers routine medications under the supervision of the physician
