Your
missions :
Ceva is looking for an OTC Formulation Specialist at the Laval Campus (53), an hour’s train ride from Rennes and Le Mans, and an hour and a half from Paris. Our Laval Campus is our centre of excellence for companion animals (dogs and cats).
As part of the OTC team (over-the-counter veterinary products), you will lead and carry out formulation trials and organise day-to-day activities to produce reliable and accurate data to support the innovation, development and production of our OTC products.
Here are the tasks you will be responsible for:
- Conducting scientific and technical monitoring, carrying out literature reviews, sourcing, and liaising with raw material suppliers.
- Acting as a member of the project team by contributing your expertise and support to ensure the success of assigned tasks
- Planning and overseeing formulation trials, and organising the bench-top schedule and laboratory activities
- Defining and carrying out laboratory tests, manufacturing prototypes and participating in the selection of formulations (proposing innovative, stable and industrially viable formulation solutions in line with quality and regulatory requirements, monitoring accelerated stability studies and content/container compatibility tests)
- Define manufacturing parameters for industrial-scale production, identify critical parameters and support the industrial development team during the production of the first large-scale batches.
- Ensure the qualification of equipment and the traceability of documentation relating to raw materials, equipment and manufacturing processes (SOPs, test reports, formulation transfer reports, etc.).
- Play an active role in laboratory operations by contributing to the management of raw materials, samples, equipment, documentation, etc.
The role requires a significant presence in the laboratory to monitor testing and manage the laboratory’s day-to-day operations.
Your
profile :
Education and experience
You hold a Master’s degree or an engineering qualification specialising in formulation, galenics or process sciences, ideally with a focus on animal nutrition, nutraceuticals or the food industry.
You have proven experience in the formulation of animal nutrition products or food supplements for humans or animals, across various types of dosage forms, and ideally some initial experience in cold extrusion.
Technical skills
You have a thorough understanding of the raw materials used in the formulation of nutritional products and are able to manage formulation projects independently.
You are proficient in Microsoft Office, possess strong writing skills (including critical thinking and the ability to synthesise information) and are comfortable writing in English.

You are independent, versatile, responsive, meticulous and organised; and possess strong adaptability and listening skills.
You are recognised for your analytical skills, your initiative and your sense of responsibility.
You enjoy working in a team and know how to interact with a variety of people.
