About this Position

The OT Security & Digitalization Specialist is
responsible for supporting and enhancing the security, reliability, and
digital transformation of Operational Technology (OT) systems across Henkel’s
manufacturing sites in Japan. Acting as the local Single Point of Contact
(SPoC) for OT security initiatives, the role ensures the implementation of OT
cybersecurity standards, supports industrial automation and digitalization
projects, and collaborates closely with Global OT Security, IT, Engineering,
and Operations teams. The position is expected to provide cross-site support,
reduce cybersecurity risks, strengthen compliance, and enable secure and
efficient manufacturing operations through the deployment and continuous
improvement of OT systems and digital solutions.

What you´ll do

  • Act as the primary OT Security and Digitalization contact for manufacturing sites across Japan, partnering with site teams, engineering, IT, and global stakeholders to support secure and reliable operations.
  • Lead OT cybersecurity initiatives including compliance activities, risk assessments, vulnerability management, security improvements, and incident response support to strengthen the security posture of manufacturing systems.
  • Support and enhance operational technology environments, including PLC, DCS, SCADA, industrial networks, and manufacturing automation systems, ensuring high system availability and performance.
  • Drive manufacturing digitalization projects by implementing and optimizing technologies such as MES, IIoT, Process Historian, Analytics, and Industry 4.0 solutions to improve operational efficiency and data-driven decision making.
  • Lead and coordinate OT-related projects across multiple manufacturing sites, working closely with internal stakeholders, system integrators, and external vendors to ensure successful delivery and adoption.
  • Build strong relationships with manufacturing, engineering, IT, and business leaders, providing technical expertise and influencing decisions that support operational and digital transformation goals.
  • Conduct regular site visits to provide hands-on support, troubleshoot technical challenges, and ensure effective implementation of OT security and digitalization initiatives.
  • Develop and deliver OT Security awareness programs, technical training, and knowledge-sharing activities to strengthen capabilities across manufacturing teams.

What makes you a good fit

Must have

  • Bachelor’s
    degree in Automation, Digital, Industrial, Chemical, related field of
    engineering.
  • 5+ years
    in Industrial Automation, OT Systems, Manufacturing Digitalization, or OT
    Cybersecurity.
  • Training or certification in OT
    Cybersecurity and Industrial Automation
  • Knowledgable in PLC / DCS, Industrial Network Technologies, MES, IIoT, and
    Industry 4.0 Solutions
  • Good Japanese
    (Native/Business Level) and English (Business
    Level) communication skills

Nice to have

  • Experience in OT Security or Industrial Cybersecurity
  • Experience implementing cybersecurity standards, compliance programs, or security improvement initiatives
  • Knowledge of MES, IIoT, Process Historian, Analytics platforms, and Industry 4.0 solutions
  • Experience in the automotive or manufacturing industry
  • Exposure to regional or global project environments
  • OT Security certifications or relevant cybersecurity training
  • Experience working with multinational organizations, industrial automation vendors, or system integrators
