OT Data Engineer

Melle, Belgium (Hybrid)
Start Date: September 2026

Fluvius is looking for an experienced OT Data Engineer to join the OT Network Management Systems department. In this role, you will be responsible for the end-to-end management, maintenance, and further development of operational technology (OT) data platforms and processing environments.

You will work with large volumes of real-time operational data flowing from field systems into historical databases and data platforms. The role combines data engineering, infrastructure management, automation, database administration, and system reliability responsibilities within a business-critical environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage and optimize OT data processing environments and data platforms
• Design, build, and maintain data pipelines and supporting infrastructure
• Ensure the availability, stability, security, and performance of OT data systems
• Perform health checks, upgrades, patching, and maintenance activities
• Plan and execute data refreshes in coordination with business stakeholders
• Manage and improve data quality processes and controls
• Develop new data products, integrations, and system enhancements
• Support the integration of OT systems with surrounding business applications
• Conduct technical research and continuous improvement initiatives
• Build and maintain environments that enable analysts and data scientists to access reliable data
• Automate operational processes using scripting and infrastructure tools

Required Experience

• 5+ years of experience as a System Administrator within an ICT infrastructure environment
• 5+ years of experience building data products, integrations, and data-driven solutions
• Strong experience with Data Management practices
• 5+ years of experience administering Linux environments
• 5+ years of experience administering Oracle environments
• 5+ years of experience with relational databases including Oracle, SQL, and PL/SQL
• Experience developing automation and scripting solutions using Python
• Experience with Shell scripting
• Experience working at Systems Engineer level within Linux, Unix, or Windows environments
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities
• Proactive mindset with a strong willingness to learn

Nice to Have

• Experience supporting business-critical applications
• Experience working within ISO 27001 or security-focused environments
• Experience with Apache Cassandra administration and maintenance
• Experience with OT and SCADA environments
• Knowledge of industrial or utility-sector systems
• Fluent Dutch (C2 level)
