OSHC Coordinator/Education Leader

Employment Type: Casual / Part-Time Hours: Monday–Thursday, 2:00 pm–6:00 pm, plus 2 hours on Friday Location: Perth Western Suburbs – Two Primary School OSHC Locations

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced OSHC Coordinator / Education Leader / Nominated Supervisor to take responsibility for the leadership, educational practice, compliance and day-to-day operation of two OSHC services across Perth's Western Suburbs.

This is a senior leadership position responsible for service quality, safety, compliance, staffing and operations.

The successful candidate will act as the Nominated Supervisor, provide direction to the Lead Educator and educator team, and ensure both services operate in accordance with relevant legislation, regulations, NQF, NQS and Patches policies.

As Education Leader, you will support educators with programming, reflective practice, inclusion and continuous improvement.

Strong compliance experience is essential. Previous experience with ECRU audits, regulatory assessments and compliance processes is mandatory.

Key Responsibilities

Service Leadership & Operations

• Oversee the day-to-day operation of both OSHC services.
• Act as the Nominated Supervisor and fulfil all associated responsibilities.
• Ensure an appropriately authorised Responsible Person / Day-to-Day Responsible Person is in place when required.
• Provide leadership, direction and accountability to the Lead Educator and educator team.
• Oversee staffing, supervision, performance, training and professional development.
• Address operational and staffing issues promptly.
• Maintain positive relationships with families, schools and stakeholders.
• Work collaboratively with Patches allied health professionals.

Education Leadership

• Lead educational practice across both services.
• Support educators to develop engaging, inclusive and age-appropriate programs.
• Ensure programs reflect children's interests, needs and development.
• Mentor educators and encourage reflective practice.
• Support Term Time and Vacation Care programming.
• Promote inclusion for children with diverse needs.

Compliance, Quality & ECRU

• Maintain overall responsibility for regulatory compliance and audit readiness.
• Ensure services meet applicable Education and Care legislation, Regulations, NQF, NQS and WA requirements.
• Monitor staff qualifications, WWCCs, First Aid, CPR, training and other requirements.
• Maintain accurate compliance, operational and educational records.
• Oversee incidents, hazards, risk assessments, complaints and required documentation.
• Lead the QIP and continuous improvement process.
• Prepare for and lead ECRU audits, regulatory assessments and compliance reviews.
• Respond to findings, implement corrective actions and monitor completion.
• Identify compliance risks proactively and ensure requirements are embedded in daily practice.

Child Safety & Administration

• Promote a strong child-safe culture.
• Ensure appropriate supervision, staffing and risk management practices.
• Ensure incidents, injuries and safety concerns are appropriately documented and followed up.
• Oversee attendance, enrolment and booking records, including Fully Booked.
• Ensure required documentation is accurate and completed within required timeframes.

About You

We are looking for an experienced OSHC leader who is confident taking responsibility for people, services, compliance and educational quality.

Essential:

• Current or recent Nominated Supervisor experience – mandatory.
• Demonstrated OSHC service leadership experience – mandatory.
• Experience leading a Lead Educator and educator team – mandatory.
• ECRU audit and regulatory assessment experience – mandatory.
• 5+ years' experience in OSHC, Early Childhood Education, Children's Services or a related field.
• 4–5+ years' experience in a senior leadership position.
• Strong knowledge of the NQF, NQS, Education and Care Services National Regulations and WA requirements.
• Experience with compliance, audits, QIP and continuous improvement.
• Strong understanding of child safety, supervision and risk management.
• Excellent organisation, communication and record-keeping skills.
• Ability to take ownership, identify issues and ensure they are resolved.
• Confidence providing direction and accountability to staff.

Highly desirable: Vacation Care and Term Time experience, experience supporting children with additional needs, and experience working alongside allied health professionals.

Nominated Supervisor Requirement

Nominated Supervisor experience is mandatory.

The successful candidate must be eligible to undertake the responsibilities of the Nominated Supervisor and ensure an appropriately authorised Responsible Person / Day-to-Day Responsible Person is in place when required.

This is a service leadership position, not an educator-only role, with accountability for the operation, compliance, educational quality, safety and staffing of both OSHC services.

Qualifications & Mandatory Requirements

• Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care, Diploma of Children's Services, Diploma of School Age Education and Care, or another ACECQA-recognised qualification applicable to OSHC.
• Current Working With Children Check (WWCC).
• Current First Aid and CPR as required.
• Required child safety and mandatory training.
• Eligibility and suitability to undertake Nominated Supervisor responsibilities.
• Any other checks, qualifications or training required by legislation and Patches policies.
