The Opportunity:

The Y NT is seeking an experienced Centre Coordinator to manage our newly appointed OSHC Service with lots of charm and potential, located in Howard Springs.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Current First Aid Certificate (HLTAID012) and CPR.
  • Early Childhood diploma qualification or above.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Centre Coordinator.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operational Excellence: Oversee the day-to-day operations, ensuring a seamless and efficient environment for all members and staff.
  • Financial Leadership: Manage financial planning, payroll, budgeting, and reporting to ensure the centre's financial health and growth.
  • Team Management: Lead, inspire, and develop a high-performing team dedicated to delivering exceptional service and programs.
  • Risk Management: Implement and oversee risk management strategies to ensure a safe and secure environment in accordance with relevant legislation.
  • Program Delivery: Design and deliver innovative programs for children that encapsulate social, emotional and developmental needs of our diverse community.
  • Project Planning: Be involved in the development of both long-term and short-term projects for the successful operation of the facility, including program development and strategies for Stakeholder Engagement: Develop, engage, and collaborate to improve local relationships while identifying partnerships, programs, and events that may benefit the community and the Y.
  • Fostering Inclusiveness: Maintain a clean, welcoming, and open environment for all members of staff and the community.
  • Training: Assist the Y NT children services senior management in developing, coordinating, and implementing marketing plans designed to maintain and increase existing business and capture new opportunities within the centre.

Mandatory Requirements

YMCA, including its Boards of Directors, are committed to the safety and well-being of children and young people in accordance with our Safeguarding Children and Young People framework. YMCA requires that all applicants undergo satisfactory screening prior to commencement, including but not limited to:

  • Valid Working with Children Clearance.
  • Satisfactory Criminal History Check.

Any successfully appointed applicant will be required to adhere to the Safeguarding Children and Young People framework, which includes a thorough safeguarding children and young people induction and a commitment to upholding the safety and wellbeing of children and young people throughout their engagement with YMCA.

The Royal Children's Hospital (RCH) has been providing outstanding care for Victoria's children and their families for over 147 years.

We are the major specialist paediatric hospital in Victoria and our care extends to children from Tasmania, southern New South Wales and other states around Australia and overseas.

With a passionate, highly skilled and committed staff campus wide of over 5,000, we provide a full range of clinical services, tertiary care and health promotion and prevention programs for children and young people.

We are the designated state-wide major trauma centre for paediatrics in Victoria and a Nationally Funded Centre for cardiac and liver transplantation.
