Location: IU Health North Hospital
Shift: Full-time Monday through Friday with potential on-call rotation
Requirements:
• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.
• Other advanced life support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
• Orthopedic technician certification preferred.
• Successful completion of ortho technician orientation required upon hire.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Under the direction of unit nursing or unit leadership, performs basic patient care technician/nursing assistant functions. Assists with fractures, casting, placement of skeletal pins and removal of sutures or pins. Assembles and attaches orthopedic traction equipment and devices. Maintains cast room and inventory of orthopedic equipment and supplies.
