The Physician Assistant will provide clinic and OR support to the group’s orthopedic surgeons. This well-regarded practice of 23 sub-specialty trained physicians offers a highly collegial and supportive work environment.
Highlights:
Performs complete physical exams, obtains complete medical history and records findings
Orders appropriate laboratory and diagnostic procedures. Interprets and integrates data to determine diagnosis and therapeutic plan
Collaborates with physicians in managing acute and long-term medical needs of patients
Performs first assistant surgical duties, including tissue retraction and suturing
Provides monitoring and continuity of care between physician visits
Administers medications and injections in compliance with state law and clinic guidelines
Instructs patients/families regarding medications and treatments
Educates patients regarding health and illness prevention, surgical procedures and expectations in perioperative period
Actively supports patient safety program; adheres to applicable patient safety standards including NQF Safe Practices
Triages patient telephone calls and provides consultation as necessary
Conducts post-operative evaluations
Minimal hospital rounding / call responsibilities
Performs necessary administrative duties consistent with role including EMR and billing inputs
Identifies emergency situations and uses sound judgement in instituting established procedures to respond to emergencies in a calm and efficient manner

On-site ambulatory surgery center
Office locations- Peabody, Beverly, Newburyport, Gloucester
Hospital affiliations- Beverly Hospital and Anna Jacques Hospital

QualificationsRequirements:
Board Certified PA
Massachusetts license
Orthopedic experience preferred; new grads welcome to apply with an orthopedic rotation
Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
