$22.41 - $33.08

UNION:

SEIU 1199-Service and Dietary

SHIFT DIFFERENTIALS/PREMIUMS:

Weekend & Holiday Shifts: No

Shift Differentials:

  • Evening - $3.00/hour

  • Night  - $5.00/hour

  • Weekend - $4.50/hour

Premiums:

  • Per Diem - 15% (on rate of pay, in lieu of benefits)

  • Lead - $3.25/hour

  • On-Call - $3.00/hour

  • Preceptor - $1.50/hour

  • Trainer - $1.50/hour

The Orthopaedic Cast Technician provides patient care in the Orthopaedic Clinic under the direction of the orthopaedic surgeon and PA-Cs to educate patients, to adjust, apply, and remove casts, braces, dressings, and splints, and to perform office procedures. The technician may assist with positioning the patient during surgical procedures, and is knowledgeable about instruments, supplies, and equipment used during orthopaedic procedures.

EDUCATION

  • High school diploma/GED
  • Graduate of a school for training as orthopaedic technician preferred

EXPERIENCE

  • Two to four years’ experience in an orthopaedic setting required
  • Clinical experience as an orthopaedic technician (or a similar position) with emphasis on casting and fitting of braces and splints preferred
  • Experience assisting in operating room under direction of a physician strongly preferred

LICENSURE/CREDENTIALS

  • MA-R or MA-C required
  • Orthopaedic Technologist Certification preferred
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certified
