Orthodontic Dental Assistant – Pensacola, FL
A growing dental practice is seeking a skilled and dependable Orthodontic Dental Assistant to support orthodontists and clinical teams in providing high-quality patient care. The role is ideal for an organized, adaptable, and patient-focused dental professional who is comfortable assisting with orthodontic procedures and working in a fast-paced clinical environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist orthodontists during a variety of orthodontic procedures
- Prepare and set up treatment rooms and equipment
- Prepare patients for orthodontic treatment
- Assist with brackets, bands, wires, aligners, and other orthodontic appliances
- Take dental impressions, digital scans, radiographs, and orthodontic records as directed
- Sterilize instruments and maintain proper infection control procedures
- Provide patients with instructions regarding oral hygiene, braces, aligners, and appliance care
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records
- Coordinate and track orthodontic lab cases and appliances
- Support efficient patient flow and clinical operations
- Communicate effectively with patients, orthodontists, and other team members
- Maintain a positive and professional patient experience
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Dental assisting certification or license as required by applicable regulations
- Current X-ray/radiography certification as required
- Previous orthodontic dental assisting experience preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Organized and detail-oriented
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to adapt to different teams and workflows
- Patient-focused and team-oriented approach
