The Orthopaedic Cast Technician provides patient care in an ambulatory clinic setting under the direct responsibility of a licensed physician. The technician participates in the care of patients in a clinic setting by: fabricating, applying, maintaining and removing casts, splints, Orthopaedic soft goods and other musculoskeletal dressing and appliances; by assisting other nursing staff and health care providers with daily patient flow; exams, simple and complex procedures. Assures appropriate visit notes, tests, and/or x-ray results are available for visit. Performs clinic-specific technical skills. Maintains clinic environment, including supplies and equipment. The Orthopaedic Cast Technician may also perform clerical, insurance, and medical records functions. May be required to float to other practices as needed for staffing.

Motor Vehicle Operator Designation: Employees in this position: Will not operate vehicles for an assigned business purpose as a 'frequent driver'
Licensure/Certification/Registration: Basic Life Support (CPR) required or obtained within first month of employment. If currently possess Licensure or Certification expectation would be to continue with this Licensure or Certification.
