Job Description

Novo Nordisk Pharmatech is looking for a chemist to support development of new resins for customised purification. You will be part of our Development department. This is a 12 month contract, to cover a maternity leave.

Your new role

As a Development Scientist, you can explore a variety of activities within your job. You will design and conduct experiments to develop and troubleshoot the production process for a new resin. You will work independently and collaborate cross-functionally across our entire organisation.

You will have a chance to:

  • Take responsibility for development and technology transfer activities related to new resin products from laboratory to pilot-scale manufacturing.
  • Plan and conduct experiments by yourself in the laboratory and together with our laboratory technicians to support innovation and optimization.
  • Stay updated on the newest technology within organic chemistry, particle analysis and the various applications of resins.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders in production, supply chain, EHS and our customers to gather essential information.
  • Support the construction of our new pilot and production facility in Køge with chemical knowledge, sparring and hands on experiments.
  • Take part in project work that has an impact on the success of our company.

Your Skills and Qualifications

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced professional with the following qualifications:

  • Minimum of an M.Sc. or Ph.D. in organic chemistry, inorganic chemistry, polymer chemistry, or another relevant natural science field.
  • Is required to have proven experience in organic chemistry, chemical synthesis, polymer chemistry, or solid-phase synthesis, with confidence performing laboratory experiments involving chemicals.
  • Will be needed to have hands-on laboratory experience, including conducting experiments, documenting results, and writing technical reports.
  • Strong collaboration, communication, and project-management skills; fluency in spoken and written English, all of them are must have.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate concepts into practical experiments to drive process development; experience in manufacturing development or process development is a plus/advantage.

Your communication skills let you clearly explain complex technical topics to audiences with varying backgrounds. You excel at assessing problems and developing creative, effective solutions. With curiosity, attention to detail, and a structured problem-solving approach, you bring a positive, can-do attitude, embrace continuous learning, and are committed to succeeding together with your team.

Your new department

The Development department at Novo Nordisk Pharmatech in Køge comprises 26 dedicated employees across two teams. As a Development Scientist, you will be part of a team of 11 laboratory technicians and scientists, focusing on developing and supplying novel materials for therapeutic manufacturing in the biopharmaceutical industry.
