Job Description

We are seeking a highly qualified Ordnance Technician to support mission-critical programs focused on testing, training, and operational readiness. This role provides technical expertise in the handling, preparation, and execution of explosive operations in support of customer operating in high-security environments.

At GCI, we solve the hard problems. As a Ordnance Technician SME, a typical day will include the following duties:

The technician will support explosive testing, training exercises, and readiness operations, ensuring safety, compliance, and mission effectiveness. The ideal candidate has experience of working with energetic materials supporting operational teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, handle, transport, and safely store explosive and energetic materials in accordance with established safety and regulatory requirements.
  • Support explosive testing activities, including setup, instrumentation support, charge preparation, and post-test analysis.
  • Assist in training exercises involving explosive systems, demolition techniques, and operational procedures.
  • Support operational readiness activities, ensuring materials, equipment, and procedures meet mission requirements.
  • Maintain detailed technical documentation, inventory logs, and safety records.
  • Collaborate with engineers, instructors, and operational personnel to ensure successful test and training outcomes.
  • Maintain compliance with classified handling procedures and facility security requirements.
  • Provide on-site support for a range of operational and field-based explosive support as required.

Required Qualifications

  • Active TS/SCI with Polygraph Required (must be current).
  • Customer Certification (required).
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience handling explosives, energetic materials, or demolition systems.
  • Experience supporting explosive testing, training ranges, or operational exercises.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of explosive safety standards, storage requirements, and handling procedures.
  • Strong attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols.
