Job Description

Air Liquide Europe Business Services (ALEBS) was created in 2019 in Lisbon, Portugal with the mandate to provide financial services for Air Liquide European entities. In the space of 4 years, it has expanded to over 400 employees based in 3 office locations: Lisbon, Tomar and Guarda. The geographical scope was extended to include, besides the European affiliates also entities located in Africa, Middle-East and India, and the operational scope was extended and includes today not just Finance, but also Human Resources.

How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?

Manage proactively an assigned portfolio of clients by using collection strategies based on AL policies and guidelines. Perform risk assessment and credit evaluation on portfolio. Liaise with local teams to ensure customer orders are managed promptly.
Your scope will be the fast-growing AMEI region, placing you at the center of international business operations.

You will proactively oversee a dedicated portfolio of clients, utilizing cutting-edge collection strategies rooted in internal policies and guidelines. Your expertise will be crucial in performing risk assessments and credit evaluations for your portfolio. By liaising with local teams, you'll ensure seamless and prompt management of customer ordersÄ’

  • Analyze and expertly manage customer accounts portfolios.

  • Investigate customer history to establish appropriate credit limits and support local teams in defining customer contracts.

  • Drive down the Days Sales Outstanding (DSO) and significantly reduce overdue documents.

  • Engage with customers through various channels to resolve financial queries and efficiently collect unpaid invoices.

  • Review the Credit & Collection (C&C) policy and provide valuable improvement inputs to the local market.

  • Confirm and propose Write Offs and Bad Debts to the Legal department.

  • Process and request customer refunds.

  • Authorize the release of sales orders requested by the Sales team.

  • Collaborate closely with the Billing department to swiftly resolve invoicing issues.

  • Analyze customer accounts and dispatch accurate Account Statements and Dunning Letters.

  • Guarantee that monthly collection targets are consistently achieved.

  • Manage and prepare essential month-end reports (i.e., DSO, Ageing, T-CLT - Top Overdue customers) to define the optimal collection strategy for the subsequent month.

  • Track key performance indicators (KPIs) and analyze data to mitigate risks and elevate overall business results.

Are you a MATCH?

We are looking for a dedicated professional ready to make an impact!

  • Degree in Accounting / Financial / Management / Economy (Nice to have, but not essential).

  • More than 1 year of proven experience in a similar function.

  • Experience in a Business Services Center is a plus.

  • Experience in a multinational company is highly desirable.

  • Intermediate proficiency in English (written and spoken) is required.

  • Extra languages are highly valued and a significant asset (e.g., Arabic, Spanish, French, Italian, German, Swedish)
