What You Will Do:

  • Manage the customer order book from order receipt through delivery, ensuring orders are accurately entered, maintained, and monitored.
  • Create, review, and communicate customer order pick lists to warehouse operations, ensuring materials are picked accurately and in accordance with customer delivery requirements. Coordinate with warehouse personnel to address picking issues, shortages, or discrepancies that may impact shipment schedules.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact between customers, Sales, Operations, Logistics, Inventory Planning and other internal stakeholders regarding order status, delivery commitments, and order-related inquiries.
  • Review customer purchase orders for completeness and accuracy, ensuring alignment with pricing, delivery requirements, and commercial agreements.
  • Process and maintain customer orders, order amendments, cancellations, and delivery schedule changes in accordance with company procedures.
  • Monitor order progress and proactively identify risks that could impact on-time delivery, escalating issues to the appropriate stakeholders for resolution.
  • Provide customers and internal teams with regular updates on order status, delivery schedules, back-orders, and potential delays.
  • Track and follow up on action items to ensure timely closure and support on-time delivery commitments.
  • Coordinate with Inventory Planning, Operations, Logistics, Intercompany teams to support timely order fulfillment and customer satisfaction.
  • Track customer open orders and maintain an accurate customer order book to provide visibility of demand, delivery commitments, and outstanding actions.
  • Support order prioritization activities by communicating customer requirements and business impacts to relevant stakeholders.
  • Ensure all order-related documentation is complete, accurate, and maintained in accordance with company policies and audit requirements.
  • Assist with shipment coordination and delivery tracking, ensuring customers receive timely updates on shipment status and expected delivery dates.
  • Investigate and resolve customer order-related issues, including delivery discrepancies, documentation concerns, and customer inquiries.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to streamline order management processes and improve customer experience.
  • Generate and maintain reports on order intake, backlog, delivery performance, and customer service metrics.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve order visibility, delivery reliability, and customer satisfaction.
  • Review of Terms and Conditions related to shipping/logistics during tender/RFQ stage.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Caterpillar management from time to time.

What Will Put You Ahead:

  • Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Supply Chain, or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in order management, project coordination, customer service, or production support roles (preferably in manufacturing or oil & gas environment).
  • Experience working with Infor SyteLine (ERP system) for order entry and tracking.
  • Strong understanding of production workflows, documentation processes, and cross-functional coordination.
  • Exposure to order management and/or logistics procedures and local laws.
  • Exposure to warehouse management is a plus.

Analytical Thinking: Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.

Distribution Center Management: Knowledge of distribution center management; ability to operate a warehouse or distribution center that handles the flow of goods from supplier to production to customer.

Forecasting: Knowledge of forecasting tools, approaches and practices; ability to determine product demand and estimate production requirements and loads.

Inventory Management - MFG: Knowledge of processes and methods of inventory management; ability to effectively manage local or distributed inventories of raw materials, work-in-progress and finished goods.

Manufacturing Requirements Planning (MRP): Knowledge of the processes, practices and systems used in manufacturing requirements planning (MRP); ability to optimize planning for manufacturing cycles and ensure capacity and materials availability.

Problem Solving: Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.


Supplier Management - MFG: Knowledge of processes and methods to effectively manage business relationships and transactions with suppliers of raw materials or product components; ability to apply related knowledge, experience and skills into real practice.

Additional Notes:

  • This position requires working onsite five days a week.
  • This role requires travel of 10%.
  • ISE/Payroll Transfer not available.
